Mikolajewski & Associates Inc. recently provided two days of on-site security coverage for a television production filming on location in South Bend, IN. On-location shoots bring crews, equipment, and vehicles into public and semi-public spaces, and production teams need a security partner who can control access and protect expensive gear without slowing down the shooting schedule.

Managing Security for an On-Location Film Shoot

Television and film productions face a different set of security challenges than a typical retail or corporate site. Sets are temporary, and equipment is valuable and often left staged between takes, which means access to the filming area needs to stay tightly controlled at all times.

Our security services for this two-day production included:

• Set and perimeter access control: Restricting entry to approved production personnel only, and keeping the immediate filming area secure during active takes.
• Equipment and gear protection: Monitoring staged camera, lighting, and production equipment between setups and overnight to prevent theft or tampering.
• Coordination with production staff: Working directly with the production coordinator and location manager to adjust coverage as the shooting schedule and locations shifted throughout each day.

Two Days of Uninterrupted On-Set Coverage

Productions run on tight schedules, and any security gap — a blocked access point or an unmonitored equipment area — can cost real time and money. Our team stayed on-site for the full two-day shoot, adjusting coverage in real time as the production moved between setups, so the crew could focus on filming instead of managing security themselves.
